Game officials spanning 15 countries to call 2015 IFAF World Championship games
Twenty-eight (28) game officials representing 15 countries on five continents will officiate the 2015 IFAF World Championship in Canton, Ohio. Games are July 9-18 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
Officials will be assigned in rotating eight-person crews led by referees Einar Bolstad of Norway, Jim Briggs of Great Britain and Nana Hiroyasu of Japan. All officials are required to speak English, and all games are played with NCAA rules with 12 minute quarters.
“The individuals assigned to this tournament are top working officials in their home countries, and they have earned the honor to be part of this tournament,” said Bill LeMonnier, a retired Big Ten referee and the IFAF supervisor of officials. “Just like the players, the officials are training to be at their best. It really is special to be involved and help with the international growth of American Football.”
